When customers walk into our stores, we want them to find them bright, clean, welcoming and smart. Your job is to make sure that’s the case, by keeping everything spick and span. That includes the forecourt and valeting equipment. There could be customers around when you’re working and it’s important that you’re always friendly and ready to help.

Customer Service Assistant

The emphasis here is on 'service'. The bigger the smile and warmer the personality, the easier everything is, from serving customers and handling cash to stock taking, cleaning and merchandising. You'll be out front – the face of BP Retail – and make sure things run smoothly out back. But you won't need experience. Just a passion for people. - If your online application is successful, expect to be contacted by the Convenience Store Manager within a few days. We'll then invite you in for an interview and a look behind the scenes of the store, so you can see what the role's all about. After that, we'll make our final decision.

Duty Manager

There's more to this than simply leading a team of Customer Service Assistants. You'll handle deliveries, manage stocks and oversee in-store processes – anything and everything to create a friendly, efficient shopping experience. You might have supervised in retail before. You might want your first taste of management. For certain, though, this is the perfect grounding for a management career. - If your online application is successful, someone from our Resourcing team will invite you to a competency-based interview. The interview will focus on assessing your ability to deal with the kind of work challenges faced by our Duty Managers. Before or after the interview, you'll go behind the scenes in a store – so you can see what it's like and whether the job's right for you. We'll then make our final decision.

Deputy Store Manager

Our Deputy Store Managers take charge of the store and team when the Convenience Store Manager isn't there. As well as being sharp commercially and a great organiser, it's also crucial to bring a wealth of supervisory experience and great ideas on how to lead, train and inspire a team of between 15 and 35 Customer Service Assistants.

Retail Store Manager

To be a Retail Store Manager you need to have led retail teams elsewhere, so you can show a team of between 15 and 35 Customer Service Assistants what great service is all about. Salesperson, motivator, logistics whiz and entrepreneur all rolled into one – this is for inspirational characters that can manage budgets, keep the store stocked and drive sales that exceed targets.

Deputy & Convenience Store Manager applications

If you're online application is successful, our Resourcing team will contact you to discuss your application further. You will initially have a formal competency based interview with the Hiring Manager where you will be asked a series of questions in line with our retail competencies and behaviours. If you're successful at this stage, you will then be invited to an In-Store Experience – so you can see how our stores are run and have an opportunity to spend some time with one of our Managers.
